What is DEEP TISSUE massage?
Firm, slow and deeper therapeutic massage strokes are used to reach the underlying tissues of the body, helping to realign inner muscle layers and connective tissue. These techniques and trigger point holds are especially useful for very tense and contracted areas of the body, for example neck and shoulders.
A common problem is that shortened and tight muscles can block nutrients and oxygen from getting to where they need to go, and this will cause inflammation that allows toxins to build up in your muscle tissue. The inflammation and toxins contribute to soreness in that area. Having a deep tissue massage session helps loosen muscle tissues & adhesions, releases waste from muscles and increases blood and oxygen circulation.
As deep tissue techniques help release the deeply held patterns of the muscles in your body, the massage assists in lenghtening muscle tissues and realigning the body to a correct posture. This leads to an improved body posture, movement and overall lighter feeling.
After your deep tissue massage:
Drink plenty of water to help your body and lymphatic system flush out metabolic waste from the tissues. Relax, have a rest and eat healthily to support the healing process and you’ll notice how much better you’ll feel the following day!
